AA Rent-a-car

This car rental advertise one thing and then give my Dad a completely different vehicle. There was no email communicating with us that the vehicle we had requested was not available. Yet, when my Dad arrived in Samoa they gave him the most ugliest and dirty car that was not worth 9k. We had paid for a Ute and he did not get that.no proper communication, sent sereval emails regarding car no response only to find out the aircon wasnt working again no email to let us know. The worst!

Coming off of a cruise ship, we had no idea what to do. AA Rental was amazing. We were able to communicate while on the cruise, via email. Arranged an easy spot to get car delivered to us (though it's a hefty walk from ship to end of dock - maybe quarter to half mile. In pretty intense heat). But the deliverer spotted me, and we finished paperwork quickly. We agreed to meet at same place after our drive. Easy close out. Highly recommend these folks for rental needs in Samoa.

Walked in off the street and they were very friendly. They didn't have a small car to suit us on site but made some calls and had one in about 30 minutes. We hired a small demio, which was tidy and ran well. Drove all around the island with no problems.

I rented with Aa Apia car rentals in May and nearly the whole experience was horrible. I just want to commend the staff who ensures the cars are clean, and I had an awesome interaction with the guy who signed the cars over to us, awesome customer service by you guys. My biggest concern and the reason for my rating is with the office crew who instead of deal with my enquiries and concerns, blamed their newer staff for issues I had experienced. I found it unprofessional, condescending to your newer staff and a huge let down to your company. It’s a disservice to those who are working hard in your company.

In August 2022 I booked a recent model RAV4 with an airport pickup. On arrival there was no one on duty and we had to wait approx 90min for a pickup. At the city depot we were given a 2010 vehicle in poor condition. We re negotiated the rate which the staff were reluctant to do. There was no other option for us but to accept this vehicle.
We had reconfirmed our booking several times.
Very disappointing.

Great staff and awesome cars. I suggest get an SUV, some of the road are not easy going. Would highly recommend

Very poor service! Picked up our rental and realised few hours later that night the headlights didn't work. We called to notify them the next day and they said to drop the rental off and pick up a replacement. We got there, and this lady with poor customer service, made us follow her to their other branch in Lotopa, to pick up replacement. After waiting for 45 minutes, our replacement rental was finally ready.
They also charged us to pick up our rental from the airport which was supposed to be 3am, but they turned up at 4am. Wouldn't waste my money on poor service again.

Staff were lovely but the car we got shouldn't have been on the road. The front CV joints were completely shot and we had to avoid steering on full lock. I would choose another hire company or insist on driving the car first.

Do NOT use this company. They fraudulently charged my credit card for the ENTIRE transaction (they were only supposed to charge an initial deposit) and then refused to refund when I cancelled over three weeks in advance, even though their term sheet clearly states: "25% cancellation fee during the rental period of said vehicle. " They are dishonest and fraudulent. I needed to dispute this with the credit card company. Save yourself the hassle and work with a firm that is honest.

The car was good, but the company it's a bit unorganized.

Prior to my booking I had to send several emails in order to explain that the information that they have got was not the same as my on-line booking.

Ended up that I was waiting for my car in my Hotel and AA went to the Airport. After an hour from the time booked they were finally at my Hotel with the car.but then, the amount that I have paid previously (NZD) was in talas.so hereit started another explanation section.

In my last day in Samoa, I was at the airport waiting for AAto get the car.no one was there, so I had to call them to come
. Luckily I was with some flexibility to take my flight back to New Zealand
.

After two days, my bofund came with an error.so, yeah. I had to contact them again.

Finally I got everything sorted, but most things I had to deal on my own.

If I could give no stars I would.
Do not rent from this company.
I organised a car rental for my parents and due to the sales manager missing my email chains, they were unable to have the car organised in time for my parents arrival.
Transferred money for deposit only to find out that the sales manager emailed me the wrong bank account details so they couldn't book in time. On top of that my parents waited hours at the airport before being told to just catch a taxi to their Apia office.
On top of that after emailing a complaint to AA car rentals, they start ignoring my emails. So frustrating, worst service and unprofessional!

Very thankful for the service from AA Rent-a-car. Had to book a car last minute when we landed, and they were able to organise it quickly with no problems whatsoever.
Car was a fair price and everything was made clear with an easy airport drop-off. Thanks again for making things easy and quick. Much appreciated.

We rented a car from AARentals two weeks ago. The first car got a flat battery. We were luckily at our resort in Lalamanu. They said they would be there in 1 he. 3hrs later they arrived and gave us another car. That was all fine, unfortunately we had planned to go out to an island but couldn't go as they took so long. He was very apologetic and pleasant though.
We decided to rent a cheaper car for the second half of our holiday. The car we got had the bumper hanging off. When we informed them of this they told us to drive to their other workshop to get it fixed (instead of just giving us another car). When we got to workshop the man cable tied it back on. Too funny. We took off and. The sun visor fell off in my lap. And we couldn't lock the car. We went back again and told them it wouldn't locK. They said the key doesn't work to lock the car we need to push the central locking button inside first and then manually lock the car. Very dodgey.
Given the number of thi vs that went wrong I feel they should have given us at least an upgrade in a better car but they just seemed more worried about getting the money outstanding for the fuel. Peop km e were generally pleasant but overall customer service was really poor.

We rented a car for 9 days, organised from NZ. Very good communication. We cannot rate the service more highly! The car was clean and well serviced, the screen washers were full, and they worked, the tyres were good and all the tools were in place. The staff met us at the ferry at the arranged time, and were at the airport for drop-off at 0500hrs. They didn't miss a beat!
I was concerned about one tyre and they sent a guy round to our hotel on a Sunday to check it out. Very good service, and a very competitive rate.
I highly recommend this company.
